In 2013, after collaborating with Sister Mary Walter Santer, a member of the Ursuline Order at Mater Dei School, my alma mater, we discussed the issue of social inequality. Together, we concluded that we would establish a Soup Kitchen to provide meals for underprivileged Thai people in need of food for survival.

However, before our project could be realized, Sister Walter passed away and returned to heaven. Before her passing, I made a promise to her that I would never forget the food distribution initiative we had envisioned together.

​

As time went by, no one seemed interested in continuing this project with me.

​

In 2015, the United Nations announced the Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs). Among these, Goal 12.3 focuses on “halving per capita global food waste at the retail and consumer levels by 2030.”

​

Thailand subsequently adopted these principles into its 20-Year National Strategy and the National Master Plan on Waste Management (2018–2037), which aims to reduce food waste and promote efficient resource recovery. Implementation began in 2018.

​

These developments reminded me of the food donation project I had promised to Sister Walter many years earlier.

​

In the business sector — including shopping malls, supermarkets, convenience stores, hotels, and restaurants — there is a significant amount of surplus food generated daily. Although such food remains safe for consumption, it is often discarded according to business policies, becoming food waste that contributes to environmental pollution. Meanwhile, many underprivileged and vulnerable groups continue to struggle for food each day.

If an effective system could be established to redirect this surplus food to those in need, it would not only promote a culture of sharing and compassion within Thai society but also help reduce environmental burdens in a sustainable way.

​

With this vision in mind, I planned to manage the organization based on the principles of Professionalism, Transparency, and Trustworthiness, and to establish it formally as a foundation. I also intended to invite respected members of society to join as board members and advisors.

​

On November 16, 2020, the VV Share Foundation was officially established, with the primary mission to act as a central organization that redistributes surplus food from the business sector to the underprivileged and the needy, while simultaneously protecting the environment through the reduction of food waste.

​

On March 1, 2021, the Foundation began its first day of food donation operations.

Eight years after my initial plan with Sister Walter, I have finally fulfilled my promise to her. What once seemed an impossible dream has now come true — an organization has been born to collect surplus food from the business cycle and share it with fellow Thais in need of nourishment for survival.

ในปีพ.ศ. 2556 หลังจากได้ร่วมมือกับซิสเตอร์ แมรี่ วอลเตอร์ แซนเดอร์ (Sr. Mary Walter Santer) นักบวชหญิงคณะอุร์สุลิน โรงเรียน มาแตร์เดอีวิทยาลัย โรงเรียนของดิฉัน เราได้คุยกันถึงเรื่องความเหลื่อมล้ำในสังคมมนุษย์และสรุปกันว่าจะตั้งซุปคิชเช่น (Soup Kitchen) ขึ้น เพื่อเป็นศูนย์อาหารแก่พี่น้องคนไทยที่ต้องการอาหารเพื่อยังชีพ

แต่ก่อนที่โครงการของเราจะบรรลุถึงเป้าหมาย ซิสเตอร์วอลเตอร์ก็ได้ไปสวรรค์เสียก่อน ก่อนที่ท่านจะจากโลกนี้ไป ดิฉันสัญญากับท่านว่า จะไม่ลืมโครงการแจกอาหารที่เราได้ริเริ่มไว้

 

เวลาผ่านไป ไม่มีผู้ใดสนใจจะร่วมมือกับดิฉันสานต่อโครงการนี้อีก

 

ในปีพ.ศ. 2558 องค์การสหประชาชาติได้กำหนด “เป้าหมายการพัฒนาที่ยั่งยืน” (Sustainable Development Goals: SDGs) โดยในเป้าหมายที่ 12.3 มุ่งเน้น “การลดปริมาณขยะอาหาร (Food Waste) ต่อหัวลงครึ่งหนึ่ง ทั้งในระดับค้าปลีกและผู้บริโภคภายในปีพ.ศ. 2573

 

ประเทศไทยได้นำแนวทางดังกล่าวมาบรรจุไว้ในยุทธศาสตร์ของชาติ 20 ปี และแผนแม่บทการจัดการมลพิษแห่งชาติ พ.ศ. 2561-2580 โดยมีเป้าหมายลดขยะอาหารและเพิ่มการนำกลับมาใช้ประโยชน์อย่างมีประสิทธิภาพ ซึ่งเริ่มใช้ตั้งแต่ปี พ.ศ. 2561 เป็นต้นมา

 

ด้วยแนวทางดังกล่าว ดิฉันจึงคิดถึงโครงการแจกอาหารแก่ผู้ยากไร้ที่ได้สัญญากับซิสเตอร์วอลเตอร์เมื่อหลายปีก่อน

 

ในภาคธุรกิจ อาทิ ห้างสรรพสินค้า ซุปเปอร์มาร์เก็ต ร้านสะดวกซื้อ โรงแรมและร้านอาหาร ฯลฯ ทุกๆ วันจะมี “อาหารส่วนเกิน” เหลือจากการจำหน่ายหรือบริการ อาหารส่วนเกินเหล่านี้ แม้ยังสามารถบริโภคได้ แต่จะถูกทิ้งในแต่ละวันตามกฎเกณฑ์ของธุรกิจ กลายเป็นขยะอาหารที่ก่อให้เกิดมลภาวะต่อสิ่งแวดล้อม ในขณะที่อีกฟากหนึ่งของสังคม ยังมีผู้ยากไร้และกลุ่มผู้เปราะบางจำนวนมากที่ต้องการอาหารเพื่อดำรงชีพ หากมีระบบจัดการที่สามารถนำอาหารส่วนเกินเหล่านี้ไปมอบให้ผู้ที่ต้องการได้อย่างเหมาะสม ก็จะเป็นการสร้างสังคมไทยให้เป็นสังคมแห่งการให้ สังคมแห่งน้ำใจ และช่วยลดภาระต่อสิ่งแวดล้อมอย่างยั่งยืนในเวลาเดียวกัน

 

ดิฉันวางแผนการบริหารงานให้เป็นไปภายใต้หลักความเป็นมืออาชีพ (Professionalism) ความโปร่งใส (Transparency) และความน่าเชื่อถือ (Trustworthiness) และจะจัดตั้งเป็นมูลนิธิ โดยจะเชิญผู้ใหญ่ใจดีในสังคมมาร่วมเป็นกรรมการและที่ปรึกษาด้วย

 

ในวันที่ 16 พฤศจิกายน 2563 มูลนิธิ วีวี แชร์ (VV Share Foundation) จึงได้ก่อตั้งขึ้นอย่างเป็นทางการ โดยมีวัตถุประสงค์หลักเป็นองค์กรกลางในการนำอาหารส่วนเกินจากภาคธุรกิจไปแจกจ่ายให้แก่ผู้ยากไร้และผู้ด้อยโอกาสในสังคม และเป็นการรักษ์สิ่งแวดล้อม โดยการลดปริมาณขยะอาหารในเวลาเดียวกัน

 

ในวันที่ 1 มีนาคม 2564 มูลนิธิ วีวี แชร์ ได้เริ่มกิจกรรมการรับ-บริจาคอาหารเป็นวันแรก

 

8 ปี หลังจากการวางแผนกับซิสเตอร์วอลเตอร์ ดิฉันก็ได้รักษาคำมั่นสัญญากับท่านแล้ว ความฝันที่ดูเหมือนจะเป็นไปไม่ได้ก็เป็นจริงแล้ว และองค์กรที่จะนำอาหารส่วนเกินจากวงจรธุรกิจไปแจกจ่ายแก่พี่น้องคนไทยที่ต้องการอาหารเพื่อยังชีพก็ได้ก่อกำเนิดแล้ว
